County Parks offers charming picnic areas for private reservation. All picnic areas include barbecue grills and tables with restrooms and beautiful park features nearby. Perfect for your special outdoor parties, birthdays, baby showers and small social gatherings, County Parks picnic areas are quick and easy to book online!

How to Reserve Your Picnic Area

Once you have found the perfect location for your picnic, you can book online!

When to Reserve Online

Online Picnic Area Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and may be made up to 90 days in advance. We are only able to process online reservations one week in advance of your reservation date and three days in advance by direct contact, subject to availability. Full payment is required when reservations are made.

How to Reserve Online
  • First, check specific Picnic Area availability using the online calendars
  • Click the Book Online button above, or Book from one of the online calendars
  • Sign in (or create a new account if needed) our ActiveNet page.
  • Select Reservations, and scroll to Make a Picnic Reservation.
  • Follow prompts and complete payment.
  • Once payment is made online, your area is reserved!
  • Wait for approved Docusign permit from County Parks, and return with signature!

Jump Houses

Interested in having a jump house at your event? While County Parks does not provide jump houses, they can be approved for use with your reservation! At the time of booking, you will be required to pay an additional fee. See Jump House Terms and Conditions of Use PDF for specific requirements!

Anna Jean Cummings County Park

Anna Jean Cummings County Park in Soquel has one large picnic pavilion area split into two sides, Picnic Area A and Picnic Area B, or as combined group Picnic Area AB. Both sides each have a large barbecue grill and are close to playgrounds, permanent restrooms, and lawn areas. The park also has sports fields and trails on the upper bench of the park. We recommend booking early to get a reservation at this popular picnic area!

Brommer Street County Park

Brommer Street County Park in the Live Oak neighborhood has a covered pavilion picnic area available for reservation. The picnic area has a barbecue grill and nearby permanent restrooms. The picnic area is located near a lawn area, playground, and basketball/tennis/pickle ball courts. This picnic location is easy to access and centrally located!

Highlands County Park

Highlands County Park in Ben Lomond has one picnic area available by reservation. This picnic area has no covered picnic pavilion and is in the lower region of the park. Highlands Park offers a large playground with nearby river access, tennis courts, skate park and a large lawn area on the upper grounds. Nearby trails make a great adventure for any planned birthday party scavenger hunts or for a stroll to enjoy the beauty of the San Lorenzo Valley.

Jose Avenue County Park

Jose Avenue County Park in the Live Oak neighborhood has a covered pavilion picnic area available for reservation. The picnic area has a barbecue grill and nearby permanent restrooms. Jose Avenue Park features a skate park, community gardens, a basketball court, playground, public art, and abundant lawn area. This park has a lovely pedestrian bridge at the El Dorado St entrance that overlooks a creek.

Pinto Lake County Park

Pinto Lake County Park near Watsonville has two picnic pavilions with grills and electricity. The pavilions are located in the beautiful park adjacent to Pinto Lake. There is plenty for family and friends at this large park, including a playground, bike pump track, dog park, public art, fishing pier, sports fields, disc golf, and trails. Explore the trails, enjoy soccer games, bird watching, or just walk the large expanse of the park.

Scott County Park

Scott County Park along Freedom Blvd near Watsonville, has a brand new picnic pavilion. This quaint, tucked-away park is a great place to relax out of the city limits, but close enough to gather all your close friends for a lovely picnic or celebration. Scott Park has a playground, and beautiful lawn areas.

For all Picnic area Reservations, the following are NOT permitted:

  • Portable BBQ’s and cookstoves (i.e. propane stoves, comal pozo/discos).
  • Charcoal, ash, or cooking oil disposal on park property; must be safely disposed of away from the park.
  • Mechanical bucking broncos and other motorized activities.
  • Alcohol consumption in County Parks outdoor facilities.

Cancellations & Changes

Reservation cancellations must be emailed to reservations@scparks.com.
Cancelled reservations will be subject to a fee of 50% of the reservation rental fees.
There are no changes or cancellations within 14 days of the event date.
