Outdoor Ceremonies

Hundreds of couples choose to have picturesque wedding ceremonies or renew their vows at our unique parks each year! County Parks offers a wide array of outdoor sites with beautiful manicured lawns, towering redwoods, beach and bluff vistas, or majestic oak woodlands. Each site is offered seasonally on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!

How to Reserve a Site for Your Outdoor Ceremony

When to Reserve

Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made up to one year in advance.
Full payment is required when the reservation is made. We book up quickly so please plan to reserve early!

How to Reserve
  • Submit your information through the Inquiry Form.
  • Create an account on our ActiveNet page.
  • Complete the Outdoor Ceremony Request Form and email to reservations@scparks.com.
  • Upon approval, confirmation will be emailed with instructions to provide payment through ActiveNet.
  • A Docusign permit will be sent for signatures after payment has been received.
  • Thank you for choosing County Parks for your upcoming ceremony!

Dolphin at Sumner Coastal Access

Dolphin Dr at Sumner Ave County Coastal Access and beach in Aptos is a quiet, tucked-away beach near Seascape Resort. This sandy destination is only accessible by a rugged trail and is perfect for the adventurous couple looking for an intimate ceremony with close family and friends.

Felton Covered Bridge County Park

Felton Covered Bridge County Park features the historic covered bridge that stood as the only entry to Felton for 45 years. Dating back to 1892-93, the Felton covered bridge is believed to be the tallest covered bridge in the country. Now a pedestrian bridge that connects to a park, the Felton Covered Bridge is a charming location for intimate ceremonies. Couples are welcome to choose to have the bridge as a picturesque backdrop or as the setting for their ceremony.

Scott Creek County Beach

Scott Creek County Beach along Santa Cruz County's north coast is a gorgeous destination with views of the Pacific ocean. Spacious and scenic, the beach is connected to Scott Creek lagoon. Coastal bluffs grace the north end of the beach, while the forested Santa Cruz Mountains act as an amazing backdrop for any outdoor ceremony.

 

Seascape County Park

Seascape County Park in Aptos sits on marvelous coastal bluffs overlooking the Monterey Bay. One of our most popular locations for outdoor ceremonies, Seascape Park has the feel of a beach wedding without the work. The simple trails leading from the parking lot to the bluffs make it easy to set up and take down ceremony decorations and are accessible by wheelchair. This location is a staff favorite!

For Outdoor Ceremonies, please note:

  • The permit is for the grounds only.
  • You may decorate and bring chairs, but all set up, ceremony-time, and breakdown must be within your reserved time frame.
  • The park remains open for public use. However, there will not be other reservations scheduled the same time period.
  • Sound is limited to light acoustic ceremony music only.
  • Alcohol is not allowed.
  • Wedding receptions are not available for the outdoor ceremony locations. Please see the Weddings webpage for reception locations.

Cancellations & Changes

Reservation cancellations must be emailed to reservations@scparks.com.
Cancelled reservations will be subject to a fee of 50% of the reservation rental fees.
There are no changes or cancellations within 14 days of the event date.
