Picnic Area Reservations

Jose Avenue Park in the Live Oak neighborhood has a covered pavilion picnic area available for reservation. The picnic area has a barbecue grill and nearby permanent restrooms. Jose Avenue Park features a skate park, community gardens, a basketball court, playground, public art, and abundant lawn area. This park has a lovely pedestrian bridge at the El Dorado St entrance that overlooks a creek.

Looking for a space to grow and nurture plants? County Parks has garden plots available in select parks!

Outdoor Class Permits

Whether it’s fitness, tai chi, plein air painting or any other low impact outdoor recreational activity, County Parks offers various park sites for you to teach your outdoor classes.

Public Art

The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors established a Percent for Art Program applicable to County construction projects. As a result of the Board's decision, up to 2% of the construction costs for new buildings and parks can be allocated to place public artwork at the site.
