Public Art
The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors established a Percent for Art Program applicable to County construction projects. As a result of the Board's decision, up to 2% of the construction costs for new buildings and parks can be allocated to place public artwork at the site.

The art at AJ is called Skyballs, by Steve Gillman and Katherine Keefer, 2001.

Four sky-blue balls appear to be rolling down the gently sloping hill. A team of artists constructed the 8-9 foot diameter concrete spheres.

See artwork in other parks here.
